Towing on X-Street??
Any of you guys tow at all on x-street? I have a small snowmobile trailer (1500 lbs) and I was wonderin if anyone else has towed with it.
How does x-race compaire to x-street? I saw one post that said having the tc locked makes the truck feel sluggish. thanks |

I yank my 4wheeler around on extreme street. I dont even know its back there. and IMO, I like the TC being locked and doesnt make it feel sluggish

I am sure below 3-5k you would be fine as long as you keep your foot out of it.

I tow 14k+ on custom street (not quite as hot as X) all day long with no issues! Just keep an eye on your EGTs. Mine don't get above 1200 with my foot in it and the big white box following me. hehe

I have towed about 4k @80mph fro Louisville to Atlanta on Extreme street. It showed no problems at all on any guages but did puke some from my degas bottle. I assume it did this in the mountains. I did not expect to be running this fast or I would have loaded a weaker tune. I would do it again but at a slower speed. And I couldnt tell there was a load attached to me.

How much can you safely tow on the "street" tune?

My borther-in-law accidentally towed his alluminum 4 horse trailer loaded down (~14K) about 160 miles round trip with Spartan's Hybrid Race tune
![]() Mind you, this is the first tune he's ever run on the truck so he was litterally scared to touch the throttle. The file was named incorrectly (supposed to be tow /w jake tune) so he thought he had a safe 40 horse tow tune. Needless to say I popped the hood the next day and not a drop puked out of the degas bottle; go figure.. He got one of the good ones.... |

I think somewhere close to 10K but I would just swith it to tow mode way before that

I play it more on the safe side.
If I have anything in tow, I go back to stock. Even hauling a load of leaves to the dump on a light utility trailer, I switch back to stock. I want to put off the any head gasket repair for as long as possible. Innovative recommends "no towing" when running their Extreme tunes, and I follow that advice. EGT is not a direct measurement of cylinder pressures. |

i towed my 75 Jimmy on a 2400 lb trailer on extreme street with no problem. I was easy on the hammer and kept an eye on my gauges
