Glow Plugs going bad?

I have noticed here recently that when it is cold outside my truck will just roll white smoke while it is warming up. I have read that this is normal but this amount kind of worries me. Also I went to crank my truck today and it only fired a couple of times and went dead. Then I tried it again and the same thing happened. Then I cut the ignition back off then cut it back on. It finally cranked this time. I let it warm up for a little while then when I took off it seemed to be missing a little until it got warmed up a little more. I have cranked it in the teens before and it cranked fine. It was 25 degrees today. Also I just got my oil changed saturday with rotella t 15w 40. Could that have anything to do with it or could some of my glow plugs be going bad?
