Question whats mileage worth?

i'am looking at 2 trucks,04 and a 05.the trucks have the same options and are both in good shape.the 04 has 37k on it and the 05 has 55k on it.22k will buy either one.both have been taken care of and are stock.i've seen 05's with 85k on them and 05's with 48k on them price is between 2k and 4k difference.just curious what your opion is on mileage vs price.
thanks

I think I'd go for the '05. It has the updated front end styling, front suspension, and I believe it has bigger brakes. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong on that. To me, 22K miles isn't that much in the long run.

I'd keep shopping for a better deal.

That $ sounds high for a 04/05, even w/ relatively low miles.

#1 - get the oasis reports pulled and review.
#2 - go here dieselmann's Page
to better understand specific year(s) issues w/ the 6.0 - this info helped me to focus on finding a higher mileage 07 b/c they seem to have most of the kinks worked out.

Market wise, I just shopped for about a month b4 buying last week - and I think you can get a 05 w/ about 60k mi. for around 17k or less depending on options. I bought a 07 F350 CC Fx4 Lariat w/ 100k mi. Asking price was 23k, I got them down to 21k and w/ a 4k trade on my 99 F150 ended up @ 17k. And got them to throw in new floor mats and a steering wheel.

Ebay, autotrader, and cars.com (mostly dealer stock) have a lot of trucks for sale. Just expand the search area for more and shop TX if it's possible (lots of trucks in TX). If you can save 4+k on the buy price, then shipping for $500 isn't a problem.

I like the 04s cuz of the leafs up front. I would go with the 04 for that reason and plus it has lower miles.

It's a toss up for me.. The coil spring suspension is easier to work with & lift, but the mileage on the other truck is nice!! The price I think is a little steep.. I bought my 03 about a year ago, it had 120,000 miles on it & I paid $13,500 for it.. I'd say if you could buy either of them for $18,000 or less you be right on market price. Just my

I bought my 2005 F250 Lariat 4x4 (with FX4 package) with 65,000 miles for 18K. Im in Jacksonville, FL.
This was a few months ago, when diesel here was $4.44 a gallon.

Im the 2nd owner. The origianl owner left the check stub of what he paid brand new in late 2005...he paid $45k.
