Hi,
First of all, thanks to everyone on the forum, amazing info tool. I'm looking at and will purchase this weekend, a 05 6.0 PSD Excursion Limited with 26k miles. I took the advice of the forum and called the Ford dealer and asked for a Oasis Report. I received the fax, but the entire report is 1/2 page long w/o dates, etc. Below is the main info regarding warranty repairs. Can someone translate to me what this means and should I have any worries on buying? The private owner states that it's 100% stock and was used as a sales vehicle and never has towed. VIN 1FMSU43P05ED43801 Warranty Start Date 8/26/2005 Listed below is the info from a grid box. 1) Part Number= 4C3Z9E527BRM Part Description= Nozzle ASY Fuel Inje Condition Code=42 Condition Desc= Does not operate correctly 2) Part Number= 5C3Z9J460B Part Description= Sensor ASY EGR PR VL no condition code or description 3) Part Number= 5C3Z12224A Part Description= 3 way vacuum connect no condition code or description Below the grid box it has the following statement: Verified MIL on and rough run. Diag sheet DTC P0278P0470. Power balance shows #6 low. Balloon test on LH Head passes. Manual comp test #6 395 PSI. Replace #6 injector. Moniter EBP. out of spec replace EBP sensor and connector. clear and retest. verified normal operation now. resolved. That's It! Any feedback would be great. Owner asking $25k. Also, should I take it to Ford for a Inspection prior to purchase? Thanks in advance. Soon to be Newbie PSD owner. |

All it states is that the #6 injector was tested and then replaced, then they tested and replaced the sensor and vac connector. To me that's pretty standard warranty items. As for the price- How many miles(if it's over 100k that seems a little high in this market, I have seen them going for around 20k +/-). I always take a real close look at any used vehicle I purchase, you can do the same by taking it to Ford or any reputable shop.

The vehicle has 26k miles. Thanks for the feedback. What about the 3 parts listed? This Oasis compared to others I've seen on here seems really vague. Thanks again.

Is that how you got the oasis from the dealer or did you transcribe it?

Hi, that's me transcribing it. It's really small print and was faxed from the dealer. I left out the categories that stated no outstanding campaigns, no extended service , arn messages, etc cause there's nothing listed. FYI, all the Part numbers, etc. are in like 2 font size, so it's possible I'm off a letter/number etc. Thanks for your help.

Question. When you push the tow button is there suppose to be a light or something displayed on the dash that shows it's engaged?
|
|
|||
|
Yes it should say tow haul on the dash or if its an older one it will light up on the end of the shift handle

The EX is in the driveway!!!!
I went over the weekend and looked at the EX and fell in love immediately upon seeing it. Took it to the local Ford dealer and it went through a complete inspection and the mechanic gave it a thumbs up. I met the seller tonight to exchange funds and now have the keys! I'll get pics up and be on here soon to ask for suggestions on changes I should make.
