Plastic epoxy...
Hey guys, I am going to do the ccv mod sson and just got some epoxy for plastic made by versachem, I am going to use to adhere a plastic cap into the hole in the intake tube to plug it and was wondering wat kind of temperature would the intake plastics face??? My epoxy is good up to 200 degrees, will it get hotter than that??? Just wondering...

I'm pretty sure the intake never gets that hot.

I hate be negative, but if it were my rig I'd try to find something with a higher working temp. At times, 200 degrees is not far off from actual engine bay temps. Working the truck hard in stop and go traffic is summer heat would bring the engine bay temps up to well over 100 degrees, and I'd hate to have the cap get drawn into the turbo.
That's just my opinion, so take it FWIW. I would have just skipped over posting in this thread instead of making a negative post, had I not wondered about how many others had already chosen to do just that. |
