Little black pump right side of engine bay???

What is this? It's like a vacuum pump or something, mine now stays on all the time. I't just started doing this recently?

Thanks
Hoss

It's the motor that supplies vacuum to the Auto locking hubs

That's what I was thinking it is, so why would it be running constantly? I followed the vacuum lines down, and they all appeared to be hooked up.

didnt know that. I have used and owned Ford vehicles equiped with this feature since maybe 1987 and have never had a problem with them at all. Thanks for the info. I have heard of problems with this system before but didn't even know they were vacum operated.
