06 auto trans??

Hi, new to powerstrokes in general and was wondering how much hp can the auto trans take safely with an after market chip whithout tearing it apart. The truck i just bought has the bully dog power pup on it with outlook monitor, what would be a good setting for daily driving??

the stock trans can handle a good amount of power 500hp or so, you will get a lot of replys to tell you to ditch the bully dog and get yourself a custom tuned sct for the life of you trans.

The thing is that the BullyDog doesn't tune the transmission and so you're adding stress to it with the added power without adjusting the transmission. The truth be told that the Torqshift is a stout transmission, but it needs to be tuned and that will be done with custom SCT tuning (It tunes the motor and the trans). Eric at Innovative Diesel is a crowd favorite, but there are many more custom tuners out there.

The Torqushift is designed to take 1100lb.ft of torque at the input shaft, but how long will it hold under stock tuning at that power? I'll never know! ;D

Thanks for the feedback!

I appreciate the feedback and have done enough research now to see that sct (custom) is the way to go. Im gonna try to sell the bully dog power pup in the classifieds section on here. Was wondering where would be the best (cheapest) deal for a custom tuned sct???
