If your going to throw that much money into it, I would go ahead and get a cold air intake. I noticed a big difference when I put mine on. But otherwise, that sounds like a great plan you have

From what ive heard the banks IC is a waste, plus, i would never put anything with the banks name on my truck. Everything else sounds like a winner though.

Thats a long list and the thing I have a hard time believing is that I have 8.5 of the same mods on my truck.

wow thats funny. At least my ideas aren't all stupid. ha ha
![]() I will also be doing the zoodad mod..... but with a twist... I will design it so that it will funnel straight to the air filter opening that will provide even more forced induction. It with slits on the bottom to allow drainage. And it will have the feature of opening and closing. I will close it during the winter. and a screen too... |

I don't know if I would go that far. As far as I've read, the Banks IC is pretty good and worth it if you're doing a lot of power-adding mods and a lot of towing in the desert. Banks has burned a lot of people with their programming b/c it doesn't tune the tranny and their products are expensive. But if you can get a good deal on an IC, I would do it! I would trust the Banks over the Spearco at this point with pictures I've seen lately of the Spearco blowing the endtanks at 50 psi.

Thanks for the comment
![]() Towing once every 2 months is just on average. And the loads very. I dont live in the desert. I didnt know Sperco blew at 50. wow. What can the banks and stock go up too??? |

I think that the intercoolers vary in what psi they can withstand, obviously the stock IC with it's plastic ends doesn't hold up to much over stock. The Spearco IC's were supposed to be rated to 100+ psi, but they've been having a few incidents where they're blowing around 50 psi. I'm not sure what Banks rates their's as, but it's got to be around 100 psi also.
I would say that if you're not towing a lot in hotter areas, an upgraded intercooler is probably going to be a waste of time and money. If you really want to cool the EGT's, just get an aftermarket exhaust and delete the EGR system and it'll cool way down!! |

What about the Turbonetics IC?

I dont see any problems with the banks ic. Im sure other companies make better parts similer but I like this cuz its all in one packege that apeares to have quality and improving effects against stock.
