Mirror defrost?

I have an 05 f350 lariat that seems to have no defrost for the outside mirrors..every time they get icy they stay that way unless I chisel theice off.I had a dodge 2500 before this truck and they would automatically defrost.I dont see any buttons or switches for this.....Anybody know or can help me,,,thx

They either come on with the ignition or when you turn the heat selector to defrost. Not sure which, but there are no buttons to turn the mirror heat on seperately.

does the mirror have the defrost symbol on the out side. it should. there is 2 wires that are supposed to be hooked up to the mirror. did someone change the outside lenses or mirrors? if they are changed maybe the wiring is not pluged in.

IF you have heated mirrors as said before there is a symbol in the upeer outside corner of the mirror. And IF you do have them, they are ON all the time.

If you don't believe me touch them with the back of your hand when it's 100* + outside, no more questions after that...

They should automatically defrost when the key is on as long as it has the little defrost symbol on the mirror

your telling me all mirrors dont come with defrost?.that is an option?,,I will check to see if they have the symbol....thx for the quick responses!

I'm not telling you anything except what I know and have experienced. It will burn your little hand.

no symbol,,,so does that mean I dont have it?,,,never thought a truck like this would not have defrosting mirrors....doesnt make sense

Either doesn't have it or the mirror glasses have been replaced before because they had been broken. I'm pretty sure that all the Lariat models had heated mirrors.
