Looking at buying a remote start?

I want to buy a remote starter for my truck. Noticed that if you go to the dealer it cost about 500$ to get it. But i found one at AutoZone that will work on diesels for about 100$ so whats the deal? is it a piece of crap? or does ford just charge you that much on labor for the Job? The AutoZone remote starter has instructions and a DVD to do it yourself. What do you guys think, should i go for it or not.

I have a buddy that puts autostart in all the time and said he could do mine for about 240 everything included, soo 500 just seems high dont know how quality the kit from autozone is though
