Oil level on stick.....how important

The other day I performed an oil change on my truck by myself for the first time, its an 07....I used Rotella 15w40...I am worried about the level on the stick, the oil after the change is up the "M" on the MAX on the stick but not past the plastic on it just to that "M" is this overfilled? If so what issues or problems will this cause???? I did not check the stick before I changed the oil..I added approx..3.5 gals or so..?..Should I drain some of the oil out...What would you do?....Thanks for the help

Dont worry about it.
14 1/2 quarts puts all three of my 6 leakers in the proper range on the stick. So you'll know for next time.
