oil change
What oil do you guys recommend for change? I usually go to Ford to get it done. But I would rather do it myself now but want to know which brand/type oil is best for my 05 PS.

Rotella 15w/40. And make sure you get a MOTORCRAFT FILTER.

Makes sense, that's what Ford puts in them. And you can get the 15w40 for $11.63 for 5 quarts at Wal-Mart, and the FL1995 oil filter is nine dollars and change. I saw the same oil at Pep Boys for $15.99. The oil change shop wanted $94.00 to change my oil.

Depending on your location, it's up to your motor. I have used 5w-40 since like 30k and have found 2 that REALLY work well. For the filter it's easy either MC or Fram for me. If PepBoys has another memory lapse, I'll rape them again during their Fram 2 for $7 deal.
I'll add to this by recommending a good by-pass filter kit. Use quality oil and keep it clean. Dino oil I can't help you with, sorry. |

Everyones diffrent, but I run Redline synthetic 15-40. It seems to start better when it is cold with the synthetic.
