Starting to get frustated at my 6.0
Here is my symptoms...I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.
I have a 2004 F250 with the 6.0 I have only owned this truck for about 6 months and absolutely love it. Since I have owned it, I have changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filters, transmission and coolent fluids. Just trying to start off with a clean slate etc. About 2 weeks ago while driving I starting getting the surging / bucking symptom and after about 4 or 5 surges, the truck began to run normal. Then tonight, I was driving home when the truck just simply quit. I was lucky and put it in neutral and it started right back up. Again, no more issues the rest of the way home. The only thing that I can think of that was remotely the same was that it was rainning out both times. This is my first diesel, and I am trying to learn the proper way of maintaining it, however, I don't want to just start throwing fixes at it, unless its the right fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Scott |

No leaks that I can see on the garage floor. What is the icp sensor and what does it cost to replace?

I'm no tech by any stretch but my EGR valve was bad and it would cause mine to buck like that when starting out. once I could get it going it would do ok but it sure didn't want to get going.
Next time it does it unplug the EGR valve and see if it stops. That is what was recommended to me and how I figured out that was the problem. As soon as I unplugged it, it ran perfectly. Got it replaced and she has run like a champ ever since. Tech's... Please don't blast me if I am wrong... just trying to help. |
