Deck truck. Is that another term for flat bed, or work bed?
IF so, here is my hauler bed, I just finished. When ever it stops being nasty for a day, Ill wash her up and post better pics, but for now, this is what I got. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Its not bad, I built it my self. I painted and wired it my self, and of coarse designed it my self. More to come. I am working on front bumper design and running boards, and aluminum trim and new aluminum interior trim and more????? Bought the truck as a pair in a wreck. DOng the best I can with what I got. Sure is nice not having payments! Also was nice not to have to pay the 10-15,000 these things usually cost. Its just chassis black paint, over epoxy (and of coarse I also rubber coated just about everything else.). I plan to do a two tone with orange on the lower or dark grey, still undecided? Might go Copper interior trim and outer trim Have not seen that yet. Sorry about the super messy shop. I fixed that last night.LOL Bill Last edited by workin4my350; 12-23-2008 at 12:42 PM. |

Thanks,
I have built three of them for these trucks now. The last one was all diamond plate, and old trucker bought it on the spot at a truck shop, when I was looking for chrome thingy's? So I started designing this one. I have a box for ever box, that all hold specific tools, the under bed boxes, hold 4 suitcase boxes on drawer slides. I started building aluminum trim for it a little today. If you can't tell, I am a metal head, by trade (artist actually). I have been looking at making these as a side job, but would not do paint. I have considered a bolt up "KIT" too. THis bed was assembled in 8 hours with cleco's then all the extras. I built the wheel wells on the pullmax machine in one piece (the sides where replaced from this picture, I hate mud/bondo). THe pullmax is the big green hammer with the red star on it in the last picture. Lots to do. Thinking about making aluminum bomber seats with reclinability and heated moduals from the factory seats? I have too many other car body project around here. As you can see from this picture. ![]() In the back ground I have one of the many cars that are in on and well not quite under the shipping crates. THat red vw on that box will become a two door carson top all aluminum speedster for the misses for our 20th anniversery. Boy I cant spell for ****. its just metal!
Its that plastic crap and itchy fiber stuff thats hard for me. THANKS alot to all the kind words. Im excited. Today was the first day on the road. OH BOY! 50 miles and 1/4 tank later. (cant stay out of the pedal). Im back to do more stuff. GOt to get them air lift doors working just right. Never thought it would take so much nitrogen to lift a 60# door. Bill |
