Can i add a factory overhead console to my 2005?

I want to add a factory overhead console to my 2005 f250. I have done a little checking and found out there are 2 choices. 1 wil just give compass and time and the other will do milage etc. How can i tell if my truck will do the milage? Is there stuff that would have been put on at the factory or is it already there and i just need to buy the overhead with the milage deal in it?

I have been checking on this, a guy on ebay named "old bird" sells overhead consoles and has 2 verisions. Your truck has to have a certain wire for the milage deal to work. For about 170 you can get an overhead console with compas and time from him.

I don't know if it will work for an 05 or newer.
In 05, Ford moved the mileage display to the dash instead of the overhead console. My overhead console has no electronics in it at all.

This guy is right. The overhead consoles are for the 99-04's they wont work with the 05 up. The 05 up's have the MPG and compass in the dash display

Are you saying on 2005 up it is in the little green info center abouve the shift indicator? How do you work thru it? Where is the button? Thanks

It was an option. If you have the smaller info center in the dash you dont have the readout. The larger one does
