block hearter wire damaged can i just replace the wire??
hi sorry not sure if this is the right spot to post this...if not sorry...
I have an 05 6L and i recently noticed that the block heater wire has been damaged...it looks as though the previous owner wrapped some electrical tape around it....but I'm not really comfortable with this on account its starting to spark when i plug it in....no good question do i have to replace the entire block heater and wire (is it all one unit) or can i just replace the wire... this has likely been asked before but I did do a seach but didn't find anything thanks for the help |

You can replace just the wire.
Should be able to get it at any Ford or International Truck dealer. |

The block heater and cord are 2 seperate items. The heater is just a block plug with a heat coil on it. The cord plugs into it on one end and the other end plugs into an electrical outlet.
