Need Filter #'s and Fluid amounts
Hey anyone know where there is a list of the filter part numbers and fluid requirements for doing various service work on the 2005-2007 trucks? I want to go to Ford and buy some filters and fluids to give the ol' girl a bit of a happy birthday...........

All my filters are WIX (They supply NAPA, so you know their good stuff).
Oil: p/n 57314 Fuel: p/n 33899 Tranny: p/n 57702 Air: p/n 49490 I generally use mobil 1 Delvac or Chevron Delo for the engine. 15 quarts works great. Mercon SP for the Tranny and I'm pretty sure it holds 16 quarts. I get my filters from fleet filter. They ship to my door, and I buy them a few at a time so I save a couple of bucks too. Speaking of, used the last oil filter this weekend. I need to get some more. If you haven't changed your fuel filter yet (the one under the truck), do it right and find the little plug online that replaces the drain plug. You can loosen and tighten it with your fingers. Get one of these. Should make it alot easier the second time around. I have yet to buy it, but I will be getting one soon and many in here will vouch for it. Hope this helps ya out. |

There has been a lot of discussion about what filters to use on the 6.0's.
I have done plenty of research and I would not use any filters for the oil and fuel except Ford. Especially the oil filter. I am no means an expert on the subject, but from what I've read this is the only way to go. |

I sure wouldn't use Wix filters in the 6.0L. Use Racor, International, Motorcraft, or any OEM "Style" with the proper patent numbers on them. MANY problems are due to will-fit filters that actually do not fit or are poor quality. Not sure why supplying NAPA guarantees good quality???
"Air Filter FA-1778 4C3Z-9601-AA " "Fuel Filters FD-4604 3C3Z-9N184-CA IH 1847170C93" "Oil Filter (Racor) FL-2016 3C3Z-6731-AA IH 1840752C91" "Transmission External Filter FT-145 3C3Z-7B155-BA" Oil - fill it to the full mark and no further. Some say 14 qts and some say 15 qts. Probably either are ok -just do not overfill. Tranny - 6-9 quarts if you just drop the pan and refill - the drain amount is a little variable. It takes 18 quarts to fill a totally empty system. Just be aware that the torque converter fluid does not drain out. You will have to do a flush to get that fluid out. |
