silverline muffle question.

I have a full 4" turbo back with no Kitty. I was in my buddies truck the other day. His exhaust is cut off right past the cab. He still has a muffler but no kitty as well. It sounds AWESOME!!! So I went to do this on my truck. I moved the muffle up a few feet and installed the turndown. Well I noticed the inside of the muffler. It has little cup like things that I guess absorb sound. It looks like the muffler can be used either way. The cups are currently "catching" the exhaust flow. If I turn the muffle around, will the sound be louder?? I dont want to straigt pipe the truck yet as it is a work truck. Sould I turn the muffler around??? Thanks for the help.

I was looking up info last night and found you can turn the muffler around and make it louder.
