I have been having issues with my fuel pressure, did the blue spring update, and am still running a 40 psi constant on my pressure. well I figured I would test my FICM and this is what happened.
I was attempting to test my FICM and as I was placing the positive probe on the contact the probe arc'd on me. My truck still starts and runs and no sounds of failing FICM. Please tell me I didn't screw up.
you should be fine, if all sounds good then keep an eye on your ficm voltages with either tourqe app pro is what i use or some other means, many have here on the ORG would agree that when they were testing the FICM's they arc'ed, what I do is use electrical tape and tape the probe of the meter, but leave the small tip at the end exposed, so that if did slip, you wouldn't arc.
thanks for the input, but that still doesn't help me figure out what the deal is about my fuel pressure, I am still running 40 psi at a constant and have done everything suggested (blue spring, filters, etc) and my pressure has not changed.... what now??????????????
What year is your truck? Did you change out all the o-rings that came with the kit? If so, did you change out the upper most plug at the top of the housing? Sometimes the old ones will clog up from excess rubber material that they're made of and reduce fuel pressure.
Ok now that I talked the wife into letting me get a scangauge II..... all the necessary programs set up and ran a good test.... my FICM holds a solid 48(thank God) but yet I still have the issue with the fuel pressure..so,I'm thinking i need
Remember your FICM has very little or nothing to do with fuel pressure, it electronically controls the injectors. I would check the HFCM on the frame rail and make sure you have good OEM fuel filters. You may have a fuel pump, located in the HFCM, going out. You should also double check that the blue spring was installed correctly.
