To unplug or not....trailer from truck?

We have a 2004 F350 6L diesel and a 2007 Komfort travel trailer. When we travel and need to spend a night along the way, I typically leave the truck and trailer hooked up, setup the stablizer jacks and spend the night.

In addition, I do not disconnect the trailer power cord from the truck and todate have never had a problem. I only leave the cord attached on these overnight stays, never on stays of two nights or more.

Recently, a couple of fellow travelers said that I should never leave the trailer plugged into the truck overnight, as it could potentially damage my truck battery.

Is this an issue with Ford trucks? Am I damaging my truck battery by leaving the trailer power cord plugged into the truck overnight?

Thanks,
-- JP
