In the 3 6.0's I have owned, I have never had to purge the system to get the truck to turn over. I normally cycle the key 3-5x and go on about my day...
I helped my pop in law out with oil change and fuel filters today on his 6.4. I had to purge his to get his to turn over. After the filter change and key cycles, it initially started then died. Purged it with key on then tightened the top filter cap back down and fired right up...
Makes me wonder if I should practice this method with my truck also... I normally don't have another set of hands like I did today.. LOL
