What are the symptoms of EGR/Head Gasket Failure?

Hey guys, I don't think I am having these problems but I was just wondering what the signs and symptoms of these problems are? Would I definitely notice if one of these things was broke? What would I notice if there was a problem?

I think my coolant has been coming out of my reservoir but I'm not getting anything out of the exhaust. Do I have a problem?
