Hi guys, anyone know how to bench test operation of 4WD vacuum solenoid? 05' F-350 6.0L. I have vacuum to solenoid but not beyond, no matter what position of switch. Thanks

You mean the PVH Solenoid?
To check proper operation of the PVH solenoid: Ignition ON. Backprobe the far left wire of the connector (red wire) and ground it, does the solenoid click? Backprobe the far right wire of the connector (Gray w/black tracer) and ground it, does the solenoid click? No? Now disconnect the connector from the PVH solenoid and check for voltage at the center wire (should be light blue and pink wire). Is the voltage greater than 9volts? If yes... you need a PVH solenoid. If no, well, let me know and we can start from the top. Hopefully this helps with your diagnostic procedures. |
