600 HP?
I can't decide on a cummins or a powerstroke. I want to make 600 HP and I know how to do it with a common rail cummins. Lately the powerstrokes have been growing on me though. If I get one it will probably be a 6.0 because I want something in the 2005 year range. So, what will it take to get a 6.0 to 600 Hp.

Decent set of injectors, probably over a 190cc, Fuel system, egr delete, headstuds, exhaust, tuning, IC, nitrous and alot of free time to fix it when it breaks down.
I'd go with the Cummins. |

I think you'll get more reliability out of the Cummins. But it would be sweet to have a high-powered powerstroke just to be different and show the cummins and duramaxs that a 600 HP Powerstroke can be made and have fun with it.
If I were you I would try to snag up a new '08 6.4 powerstroke at a discounted price and build a badd azz 6.4. It would be easier to build power and torque with the 6.4 and more reliable too |

Yes it could be done cheaper with the 6.4 minus the cost of the truck

+1 on the 6.4. You could just about get there on a DPF delete, tuner, and injectors. Throw in a little spray, and you'd be over the top. They're making 500 RWHP on a tuner and DPF delete alone.
I've seen brand new crew cab lariat 4x4 08s go for 36k range and low mileage used ones go for under 30. |

i just always see them broke
![]() listen to rob..buy a cummins...wait till his truck runs right. he will be like I LOVE POWERSTROKES...YAH! cummins are fun, cheaper to mod but unless you putting one into your ford. IMO dodges are a piece of crap. my buddy has an 06 and my other friend has an 02...great engines. stupid trucks LOL |

600 hp on fuel is going to cost A LOT on a 6.0. Even to spray your way there isn't going to be cheap. Not to say its cheap to do it to a CR, but its definately a lot easier and quite a bit less expensive.

A 6.4 and you can get there alot easier and quicker. A CR will get there a whole lot easier and quicker and a 6.0 will get there with alot of time and money.

Man I drove my buddies 05 Dodge Cummins and I was really impressed! Was my first time in one, stock it felt like it had tons of power. To bad it's a Dodge and I think they are ugly as all get out. I can see why people throw money into those motors...
