Alternator Under warranty

Is the Alternator cover under the 5/100000 warranty? My truck is an 05 with 54000. thank

I don't think it is. Mine ('05) went bad at 77,000 miles and was going to be charged over $400 to replace it even though my PT Warranty was still in effect.

i have an 06 and just had mine replaced but not under 5/100K. I bought warrenty with my pickup from another company since I bought it used.

you can do the fix in about 20 minutes....prob covered in a 3/36k, but not PT warranty

the alternator is part of the engine assembly so therefor should be covered under the power train warranty if they are saying no i would cause some **** with them lol

Um...just because it is part of the engine does not mean it is covered under the 5 year/100,000 warranty. If you did a little research you find that ONLY LUBRICATED PARTS (ON THE ENGINE) ARE COVERED UNDER THIS WARRANTY.

well its sitting at the dealer right now. I will call them first thing in the morning an not to touch anything. I am not paying the dealer a dime.

Mine went out at about 90K miles and it was going to be hella expensive to buy the alternator.......I had a motor repair shop rebuild it for about a $100 bucks. Installed it myself, but the belt is a b*tch to get on...

Get a couple tools and do it yourself. might even take 5 minutes.. might have to buy a new alternator from pepboys but i think its warrantied for life lol
