Starting truck with block heater plugged in??

Can this do any damage? The reason I ask is that I have a remote starter on my truck. It is nice to be able to just remote start it every morning but if I have to go out into the garage to disconnect the extension cord it might be more trouble than it is worth. It does not get as cold here as it does farther north but it starts alot easier after being plugged in. Any advice?

should not hurt anything man. i do it all of the time, i moved my plug to the bed of the truck and have an extetion cord in the bed and just unroll it and plug it in. so when i go out to start it i just start it and before i take off i roll it up. never had a problem for 3 years this way.
