What to look for?

i know all of you are more powerstroke smart than me so this is the info im after. im looking at buying another 6.0. an 03 with 100,000 on it. what sort of things should i look for i.e. be weary of? the one ive found is a 4 dr long bed. it has 10 inches and 40's on it and looks like no performance mods. any other info you need i should be able to get. thanks in advance.

One of the big things is to be sure that al the recalls were done on it becuase there were quite a number of them, are you getting rid of you 05 for the 03?

yeah you should still be able to get the recalls done, my buddy has an 03 6.0 crew cab short bed that before he bought it made sure all the recalls were done, it even had a replaced turbo. the truck runs great. As long as its been maintained the truck will run great, but Id definitely check on those recalls

imo i wouldnt buy a lifted truck. not that big. its alot of stress on other things. motor, trans.

the 03 is a great truck. early 03s had different injectors that seemed to be a little weaker then the newer ones. common things though, head bolts, egr cooler. fix then 2 things and you'll be good. my truck has almost 80k on it. I dont ever drive this thing. last time i drove it was about 2 weeks ago around town for a hour. the last 10k have been hard miles though. not a hiccup from it though. I am studded and running totally egr free though

I agree with 03f-250 about the 10" lift being very stressful on the whole truck. I couldn't imagine doing headstuds on a truck that tall either

I wanted to do the same thing as you, but I wanted an OBS. I'm soooo upside down on my truck, Ican't justify it. Did you make out ok selling yours?
