2006 F-250 rear end gear

Went looking at a used 2006 F-250 today. the rear end code is 3L. what is the gear ratio ? I kinda thought that the f-250's mostly came with 3:73 but the dealer told me this was 4:10 and most of the 250's are 4:10. I figured I ask you all.

3.73 with limited slip. There should have been a 73 after the 3l if you were looking at the tag on the rear end.

Your dealer is wrong. Its the other way around.

Most F250's have the 3.73

The only way to get 410's in a 06 f250 Diesel is to get a dually. All of the SRW's are 373's

So you had to replace your 3:73's with 4:10's or where you able to order them with the truck as an option ?

IIRC Gas motor trucks can get the 4.10 gears as an optional gear in the SRW configuration.

thanks for the help you all !!.. i guess all the research I've done has kind of paid off, because i was quick to write that truck off.

also, i got to see the oasis report and it looks like a few gaskets and a couple of other things had already been replaced under warranty for a 15,000 mile truck.. I hope it has all of its problems out of its system for the time being !!

Your absolutely right but didn't think I had to add diesel to my description since we are on powerstroke.org
