Torqshift Maintenance

I just did a tranny filter change (did both filters) I only drained the oil out of the pan and changed the internal filter then put pan back on and changed the external filter and filled with 8 new quarts of Mercon SP, i have 43,800 on the truck this is the first time tranny has been touched, I hear guys talking about fully flushing these tranny's out....sounds a little extreme and if It is necessary when should i do that???

The maintenance sheet from Ford does not specifically state to flush your tranny. In fact, they simply state to follow the procedure like you did every 60k miles, with the external tranny filter being changed every 30k miles.

I can't afford the $3k+ for a new tranny if I screw-up the service. Figured Ford can afford the insurance it the tech drops the ball. Just $.02 worth.
