Intake manifold is diiiiiiiiiiiirty
Was just checking stuff out, and took my intake elbow off, and saw the whole intake manifold is just caked with carbon build up. I figure this is from the EGR valve. So my question is, does it being caked up (95,000 miles), mean anything is wrong or is this normal. Also can I just spray the **** out of everything with carb cleaner and be ok??

Cleaning it would help. I bet the turbo could use a good cleaning too.

How would you do that??? Have to take it apart? I wouldnt think spraying anything in it while running would be a great idea

It's pretty normal. Mine was pretty sooty(coked) after 20K when I cleaned my egr valve the first time. I would suggest pulling the egr valve off and give it a good cleaning with that carb cleaner. Pull the O-rings off and clean it up with a tooth brush. Avoid spraying it directly into the hole where the electrical solenoid is. It's normal maintenance
