Anybody running Pilot Injection?
Has anybody tried running pilot injection again? When I first bought my truck it was on and I liked it, nice and smooth at idle, it didn't sound like the motor was beating itself to death. then had it reflashed and it turned it off. But now it is starting to get cold out again and it will be idleing alot and am wondering if it is worth getting a new tune with it turned on. I might try extreme street or race. depends on if it would even try to start with one of these tunes when it gets cold out.

I don't think you're going to find anybody willing to turn pilot injection back on. It's very hard on the injectors. It would be nice if we could get it back, though. It sure makes for a quiet idle.

It's hard on injectors? Is that because they have to fire twice or the different shot sizes almost at the same time? I thought they turned it off because of the rolling idle deal. Innovative can turn it back on, I thought about getting in touch with Eric and asking him some questions about running it on an extreme race tune.

I've always heard it was hard on injectors. I have no idea why. Maybe since it has to fire twice very quickly, it's faster than the intensifier piston can come back up fully or something??? Scuffy was lurking around earlier. I'm sure he can tell you why. I'm kinda curious myself because if it's not going to hurt anything and Eric is willing to turn it on, I'll ask for it too.

I thought you had an option of turning it on with SCT's programer...like if you pull up to the drive through you can flick it on the turn it off after..?
