Stock shocks will work. Remember that with an add-a-leaf, there is no change in the distance between the shock mounting points.

The shock mounts are still on top of the leaf pack, however by adding the leaf you are increasing the radius of the arch thus moving the shock mount slightly lower. The change in distance is rather insignificant though.

True. Depends on the kit though. A mini spring pack will have no effect.

You know - every time I think I have settled on something - something else pops up that gets me thinking again. I looked at a Tough Country mini-pack - I know I have spoken against the mini-packs before - but the Tough Country mini-pack has a longer top leaf then most. The kit is like $250 or something like that - is it worth it? I like a higher then front rear so I will still need to lift the rear with a 2" kit ($79+ shipping)

With a mini pack, you don't have to use all the leafs. The link I posted gives you 2.7" of lift. You can take out a leaf or 2 to make it just right. The kit is similar to the Donahoe kit, but much less expensive.

I just bought the 2" add-a-leafs front and rear by Rough Country. Gave them to my mechanic yesterday - we talked about the install - he said probably wont take much more then 2, maybe 3 hours to install. Great I said as I walked away.

That was yesterday at lunch.

10 minutes ago he called - said they just finished adding the leafs. He said what a major Pain in the A** that was! He said the rear wasnt too bad other then rusted center pins that they had to beat out and the U bolt nuts were rusted - but the front - he said the front took over 3 hours alone wrestling rusted bolts and all the steering linkage!

He's road testing it now.

He did say - it looks sweet up another 2" with the LT 305's I've got under them. He also said he will never do another!
