04 Excursion 6.0 - cat or no cat?

What's the story on the cat converter? If this is removed, will it improve mileage? I just got a Banks Six Gun Bundle installed, but the exhaust sounds pretty much the same.

mileage is different on every vehicle, what works for you might not work for someone else, the cat off will help like others said for temperature reasons for sure , but a fuel mileage increase isnt gauranteed
