Slip tanks

How would I go about connecting a slip tanks into my existing fuel tank. I heard it's done through the vent on the stock tank. Is this true, how well does it work?

What I did was drill and tap the L tank, then I ran it down into a little inline fuel pump that I got at shucks. I just tapped the filler neck. You only get about one tread, but I used some JB weld to help hold it. I would recomend putting a shut off valve inline somewhere, because it will gravity feed and fill the tank and the filler neck.
