Looking at 03 f250 6.0 what should I look for.
I'm looking a an 03 f250 crew cab lariat auto with the 6.0 it has 90,000 on it and a lift and 35s. have most of these trucks had the computers reflashed by now and will an oasis report tell me if it has been reflashed and everything done under waranty or if the head studs have been done. I can get a good deal on this truck but want to cover my butt just in case. If anyone out there can help.

I'll post a pic so you can see if it has studs or not.

Thanks I know the 6.0 has alot of potential but i dont want to get burned from the get go. Is there a tech on because i know it depends alot on the motor but are they still seeing alot of o3 with the 6.0 with around 100,000coming in for problems or should i guess with that many miles they have been worked out.

Acording to Scuffy828 alot of the 6.0 problems are self in flicted by driver. It's true because my brother has an early 03 6.0 and the only problems its had were bad injectors within 700 miles and 2 more at 70K miles and he gets it serviced regularly and doesn't abuse it. My cousin has an 03 F550 6.0 with 130K miles. He well abuses it and it's on the 3rd motor.

Here's were you can tell if its studded or not. Open the hood and on look on the drivers side of the engine. Look below the valve cover and if you see a 12 point nut like the one in the pic its studded. If you see a bolt then it's not.

So did I untill I looked at the motor when it was finished. 5 are under the valve covers and 5 are outside.
