Pray for us and our Trucks!

Well it looks like the eye of IKE will pass directly over my, and many other members houses tomorrow night. I'm about 45 miles from the coast, so hopefully all we'll get is rain and a couple fences and trees down. I've emptied my yard and will be urging neighbors to do the same this evening to keep everyone in the area safe from un-necessary debris. Hopefully we'll ride this one out without any major problems, and I'll just have to hook the generator up for a while. Unfortunately my truck won't fit in my garage, so we'll see how tough it really is.

I hope every one is taking the same precautions to keep them and their families safe. I hope the best for everyone involved.

BE SAFE EVERYONE!

I'm thankful that we're in a new house with all of the hurricane provisions. I'm going to board up the exposed windows tonight and pack up to head to a friend's house a little further inland. I've got a pretty tough little boy and girl and a strong wife, so everyone's pretty optimistic at this point. Prayers are sent up from here, If anyone needs help later on I could be available.

Lights out since 8pm. We have the generator up and running the tv, frige and some fans. The wind's gusting at around 55 pretty frequently with driving rain. The kids are sleeping thankfully, and we're just sitting around listening to the wind blow. Sitting outside for a few earlier the transformers are going off like fireworks. Hard to believe this is just the begining. Galveston is not going to be a tourist's destination for a while now.

Will say a prayer for you and your family now and before lights out. Will keep you in my prayers over the weekend. Drop an email to skipb@wheelsofwitness.com and let me know how you are doing. God will watch over you and your family. Later, Skip

We're holding up well. It looks like we'll be in the eyewall for quite a while. A friend of mine is in the coast guard and said earlier they estimate 60,000 people in the coastal areas that ignored evacuation orders and are in need of rescue. Because these idiots didn't listen to the authorities, our friends and neigbors are putting their lives in danger.
