Brakes! Busting my head!
Dont get me wrong I love my new ride but the dang brakes are screaching and sqeeking so bad it will bust your head if you have the windows down when you are next to a building or wall. I had the wheels and tires balanced when I first got it but never noticed the sqeeking. while they had the wheels off I checked the brake pads and they have plenty left on them so I dont think it is the pads. I got some stuff from advanced but they said I had to take the brakes off to apply it to the back of the pad. I sure hate to take the wheels off just to apply that stuff when it dont even need a brake job. Any ideas or trick anyone has learned that I could try?????? Thanks A bunch guys!

Wash the truck with the brakes cold. ( in other words do not drive the truck) While your hosing your truck down spray the crap out of the brakes. See how much black brake dust comes out. Then let the brakes dry for awhile. Then go for a ride, if they are still screeching I suggest you pop the tires off. Just because you inspected the brakes a while back when you had the tires ballanced doesn't mean that they are still good. Also you might have a caliper that siezed up and wore your brake pads down faster. Or another thing is some brake pad material just causes squeeking and screeching. You may end up with having to replace the pads anyways.

scott has a point. Just becuase the pads still look good doesn't mean they are. If the pads have been on there for awhile (edit: if they have suffered numerous over heating cycles - Stopping fast etc...) they can glaze over and actually make it harder to stop and cause the squealing.
