I spent a day flushing my system and installing Shelll Rotella ELC antifreeze a year ago. A few months back my STC fitting went bad and the dealer repaired the truck. They said they put the Shell Rotella ELC back in (I was very adamant about them putting Shell antifreeze back into the truck) the radiator. Since the color of the Shell stuff is close to the Ford antifreeze, I wanted to know if there is a test kit that would tell me which antifreeze they used.
Rotella ELC is Red and not at all close in color to the Ford Gold G-05 coolant. You could send a sample of the Rotella along with a sample from your cooling system to a lab like Blackstone and have them compare the two.
Yeah I know the Ultra is yellow, I was just going but what you posted. Analysis is still the only way to tell.
