It's a wonderful thing...

So many bad things posted I felt the need to say a few nice things about my 6.0,
It has over 75K on it now and has never been to the dealer or had anything fixed on it. It just runs. It's gets 16-18 around town depending on traffic and around 20 on the road if I keep it below 80. I've seen 24 on a back-roads 55mph trip. I live in the flat Southeast so I know that's a plus too.

Last week I drove from Jacksonville to Indy with my 3500 LB Mustang behind it on an open trailer and a bunch of weight in the truck itself. I was in Indy for a week while we worked on and then played with the stang at the track so there was some trailering around town and some un-trailered in-town miles too. Ended up traveling 2103 miles on 137.795 gallons for an average of 15.25 MPG. And I didn't baby it either. Speed limit +10 when I could.

I love the truck and it's been bullet proof. Hopefully it will stay that way.

It is good to hear things like that about a 6.0L. There are so mang negative things said about them and not enough positivie things. It is true that some of them are just plain dogs, but there are those out there that have never had a bit of issues and I am glad to hear that you got one of them. I think there are more than people realize, they just don't post up unless they are having issues. I would love to hear more stories like this one. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the Org!

I will add, mine has 42k and zero problems as well. Never been to the doctor and I work it everyday.
Best truck I've ever owned, with that said I better go find a big piece of wood to knock on.

Me as well I have an 03 that by rights should be giving me an ulcer, but it always starts no matter how cold or hot and always runs. I did change an ICP for rough idle and ripped the silicone boot at the turbo but other than that no other bad things. There now I have jinxed it and it should ruin 8 injectors tomorrow.

2006 crew cab XLT, Fx4 6.0 stroke, torqe shift trans, deleted EGR, Turn over ball GN.

I realize most come to the site to get help with problems, therefore most posts are negative in tone. I just wanted to give credit where credit was due with my experience and maybe give a few others the chance to say nice things. My truck is totally stock except for SCT Tunes I run for fuel economy when I'm not towing I run a 50hp adder Tow tune when I have the Bullitt behind the truck as I did on this trip. I know most seem to think any non-stock tune is going to blow a head gasket, but SCT does a great job with their tunes. I often run a street performance tune that almost makes the truck scary performance wise as it also adds fuel economy. Even the economy tune makes the stock tune seem like a snail. Technology is a wonderful thing. Now if we can just get Diesel prices below Regular gas where it should be...

Great posts. It makes me feel better knowing there are others out there like me. I also have a great running truck that by all accounts should have crapped out on me a long time ago. One thing that I have been told that I hope holds true is " if you get a good one you'll be fine but if you get a bad one look out ". 70,000 miles and no problems so far, I hope I got a good one?

Love my truck, but the $4+ fuel is killing me. Needs to be under $3.50. Any regreats stem from fuel costs mainly.
