Going to look at a f250

Hello everyone...Im going to take a look at a 04 f250 HD edition in a week or so....I wanted to know what Im gonna want to look for to make sure its legit...Thanks to RodSlinger he ran the oasis report for me it came back clean it was braught in for a bumper sensor thats it...And carfax came back clean also so...I will post a few pics up of it it has a 6inch lift with terra grappler tires...What should I be looking for to make sure the truck checks out good and make sure the suspension was professionally done right...Because the suspension will not be covered under the factory warranty...There also asking 38,995 for it any comments on it price wise what I can do to talk them down?

It is a fine looking truck but I don't know about that price!
Get on NADA.com and run the VIN to get the average retail price.

The KBB private party value for that truck, especially w/ the lift, tires and PSD is up around 42K, esp when the truck is in excellent condition, 39K in good condition. So I don't know if you'll be able to get them to drop it much.
Hope you get the truck.

KBB is always higher than NADA and around here at t least, the banks and everyone else goes buy NADA. So if KBB says 42k, i would suspect NADA might be 39-40K so their price in still in the ballpark.

That certainly looks like a beauty of a truck! I also agree that the price seems a little high. Just less than 3 months ago I purchased a brand spanking new F-350 CC LB Lariat with virtually every option available (the chrome package is about all I'm missing) and paid a little more than $3,000 beyond what they are asking for that 2 year old H-D. Granted it has some extras, but usually a lift de-values a truck not adds to the value. Those wheels are expensive, but so are the 20's that came on my truck.

It's a sweet truck, but I know you can still find plenty of 06's leftover right now for about the same price. Also the '04 trucks don't command a premium price because of their injector/turbo history. With over 24,000 miles on the clock and a clean Oasis, this may be a proven unit and serve you well, but when you go to sell it in a few years it will still be known as an infamous 04!

Which isn't quite as bad as the infamous 03 but still.
I gave 30k for my CC dually long bed lariat...how does that compare to a HD edition? I don't have a real feel for that one but mine had similar milage on it and was only 1 year old.
I wouldn't give more than 30k for that one personally.

That is one fiiiine lookin rig!!

But as others said, I'd try for a better price, or tell them that you are going to look around for an '05 or later. That should get them to dealing.

I would think anything below $34k for that one would be doing pretty good.

Good luck to you!
