Air Intake Upgrade Suggestions

I recently bought an 04 F250 6.0L 2WD. This past weekend I put on an MBRP turbo back 4" exhaust(No Cat). My next planned upgrade is the air intake. I have been searching through threads and such and see many different models, makes etc.. I'm not building a monster (yet). I'm looking for increased flow etc. and it doesn't have to be overkill. Just a good upgrade. And $$$ is always a factor. Any suggestion will help.

After I do the intake, I am planning on some gauges (EGT, Boost) and then perhaps a performance programmer or chip.

WELCOME TO ORG! ! !

Checkout AFE, Airaid, or S&B all three have nice setups

One of the Vendors here on the ORG should be able to help you out

I use Airraid. Just avoid K&N and you should be fine.

For price and washability, I have an Airaid. However a lot of people use the S&B and many others. You will get responses to keep your stock filter and that is fine and it will flow very good; but I changed mine due to the cost of filter replacement, not flow.

Should I just get a drop in replacement or the whole kit which includes the new air box? Ive also seen posts where guys cut a hole in the front shroud to increase flow to the air box. Any experience with that?

For ease of maintainance I would use the whole kit. And the Zoodad mod will increase cold air intake and sound, I did it to mine as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I ordered the AFE Stage II, and will do the zoodad at the same time I install the AFE intake. FYI, I got it from Thoroughbread diesel. It was significantly less expensive than most sellers.

Thanks again. I may not post alot, but I do read alot. There is a lot of good info here.

I did the zoodad and bought an aftermarket oem replacement.. Think Im gonna buy the whole set up later just due to the fact that I thought it was a pain in the arse to take out and put the cartridge back in..
