stock exhaust question

So... I got under my truck today and under my dads truck took a rubber mallet to my cat to see if she was clogged. so under there I checked the exhaust the stock muffler is one big heavy pig the cat is gonna go and then right after the cat there was a 3rd piece in the exhaust. covered in foil just before the up pipe. is that a resonator??? My fathers exhaust does not have that at all its just a pipe it is not covered in foil it just heads up to the turbo.

yea, that is the resonator. There to quiet down the whistle. But you'll be removing it so you can enjoy the whistle bliss.

wow... i cannot wait to hear this thing uncorked. I am not doing anything fancy 4 inch turbo back exhaust is a exhaust.

Stainless Steel exhaust is better than an aluminized steel exhaust.
