How long did they last?

My truck has ~45K and the ball joints in the driver side have begun popping like an old man's knees every time I brake. I've never had a vehicle lose the joints so soon.

Is it normal to lose the ball joints every 45K?

When I have them replaced are there any suggestions where I can get replacements with grease fittings?

I can't see any wear from just looking at the bushings.
If I jack up the front end and am able to wiggle the tire at the bottom is that ball joints or sway bar?

Part of my commute involves a high speed ramp that merges the bypass back on the beltline. I'm usually running at the edge of traction so theres a tremendous side load on the vehicle. I never worried about it before but maybe that's been accelerating the issue.
