What do you Guys think, first oil change? Break in Period?

New King Ranch F-350 CC 4x4 Dually.... I am old school and Babying it around right now, 650 kms on it!!! I was thinking maybe dump the oil at about 2000 for the first time? And not "Romp and Stomp" until then?

What is the prudent thing to do, am I on track here? Longer on oil? Longer on Break in? I have the EDGE JUICE with ATTITUDE from the Dealer!!! And it does not void the Warranty!!!! But he wants me to have a few thousand on the clock, fair enough I agree, before trying it out... :nono:

I might just run it on economy mode on the second tank, see if it gets better mpg....

What do you Guys and Gals think (Marc is away blasting some poor deer, or trying to... Ha!) Don't worry, I am not a "Greenie", done Game Patrol in Africa and there are 20 animals, deer, Black Bear, and such in my house.. Ha!

Anyways, watcha all thinkin??? Thanks in Advance, Ranger in Oz..

And I think most people say, once you have your break in done, run it WOT at least once each time you have it running. I have heard it is not good to baby the 6.0s But, I'd say get you break in done, then have fun!

Alright guys, first oil change is at 5000 kms about 3000 miles or so, I am convinced.... What about a fair break in?

My truck is from the Kentucky Truck Plant, do they run them in on the bench? Is it OK to put the pedal down after a 1000 or so? What do you hear?

Kind Regards, Ranger in Oz....

Stump, I am a fair Engineer, 55 y.o. and I have heard that saying before.. But how? I know if you idle a diesel too long, or run it too easy without working it, you can glaze up the cylinders and it will start to use oil... Is that what you mean?

I don't mean to put you on the spot if you don't know, don't take offence, but that is the only thing that can hurt from light duty in not using the horsepower and glazing the cylinders from light work or too much time at idle...

Anything else I don't know that is special circumstances for the 6.0?
It is my new Baby and I have "NEW TRUCK ITIS" ... I will freely admit I know the the 6.0 PSD as much as the So I will rely on Guys like you to set me straight...
