Smile Stock Horsepower and Torque for the 6.0L Powerstroke

Just as a note, I thought I would post a sticky of the stock horsepower for the 6.0L Powerstroke. Seems I'm always forgetting.

Horsepower: 325HP @ 3300 RPM
Torque: 570 @ 2000 RPM
Displacement: 363 CID

Alrighty, hopefully this will answer future questions...

Lem

I've got a Gtech Pro, so I'll run my stock truck tomorrow in both 4x2 and 4x4 maybe try switching it off part way. then post the times i get, which will only be 0-60, 1/8mi, and 1/4mi.

You ever get a chance to try it with your GTech James? I'm just curious what the #'s were.

i was only able to make one 1/4 mile pass. It was on base and when i got to the end of the road there was a cop (thank god he wasn't there 6 seconds sooner) but it was in the 17's around 78mph. I'll try the 0-60 and 1/8th mi this week.

Unfortunatley the only straight roads (off base) in south carolina are the freeways.

Cool, thanks James! I've got a buddy I work with who has a GTech. He used to run it when he was dragging racing his Stang and he said it's REALLY close to accurate. I'll ask to borrow it tomorrow and see what mine is running......I dont' have MP's to worry about anymore. :p

Allright, i found the time (and a not so humid day) to do some runs. Mind you the GtechPRO is relativley simple and i can't get 0-60, 1/8, 1/4 mile times/speeds on the same runs. So i did four runs 0-60 and three 1/4 mile runs.

All of these runs began in four wheel drive and ended in two wheel. Also i had 1/4 tank of gas (~9 gal.)

the four 0-60 runs were like this
1st. 10.78sec -only built ~15lbs of boost before launch, switched to 4x2 at ~30mph (i'm going to thow that whole run out )
2nd. 9.08sec -held brakes untill boost stopped rising switched to 4x2 around 25
3rd. 9.03sec -same as above
4th. 8.82sec -raised throttle to 2250 then engaged 4x4 --launch had a real kick
Average= 8.976sec

the three 1/4 mile runs went like this:

1st. 16.9sec @ 81.0mph -just like 2 & 3rd 0-60 runs
2nd. 16.6sec @ 83.1mph -ditto
3rd. 16.97sec @ 80.1 -ditto
Average= 16.82 @ 81.4

one note of interest; the 2nd & 4th 0-60, as well as the 2nd 1/4 had a slight (2mph or less) tail wind. and the others had a head wind (i was driving back and forth on the same stretch of road)

Ignoring the huge factor of wind resistence my performance caculator says the 1/8 mile would be ~10.62sec
based on e.t. and 7.8K curb weight i'm rolling with 324 hp to the ground
based on MPH and 7.8K curb i'm getting 328 to the ground. The caculator expected 16.22 @ 84.02 with 360hp and 7.8K lbs

next i'll map out the intervel (sp?) times i.e 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, etc and graph them. i also need to take a look at the shift points and see if it would be better to turn on the tow/haul mode at any time.

Not a prob. I'm pretty scientific when it comes to things like that. if you have any time slips or any acceleration times/speeds let me know i'll crunch out any info i can from it.

Hey thanks James! I forgot to ask my buddy to borrow his GTech but I'd like to try it with mine. Are you looking to get a tuner for yours, or do you plan on leaving it stock?

A tuner is the last mod on my list, I'll probably build a propane/nitrous injection system first. I'm crafty like that, and not supper worried about cosmetics. For now I'm just gonna leave it stock.
