Any one notice this....

The other night I was driving home and accidently tapped the brake pedal while I was still holding the accelerator pedal at a constant cruising speed and the tranny kicked down a gear as if I were going to pass someone.

I have routinely been able to duplicate this scenario and would like to know if it is set up this way from the factory?

Yes sir, mine does the exact same thing. I think what its doing is unlocking the torque converter when you tap the brake like that. Had an 04 and it did that as well.

it'll really freek you out the first time you are doing 60 in tow/haul mode and hold the brake pedal down. With the tow/haul enabled speed holding programing will actually down shift the tranny and cut fuel to the engine, all you'll hear is the engine spinning at speed, keep holding the brake down and when the engine speed gets to around 1K it will add the fuel back in, rev, down-shift, and cut fuel again all the way down to a crawl. give it a try on a long down hill run you don't even need a load on the truck to get it to do this.
