Mercon SP Tranny Fluid?

Anyone know where I can get some Mercon SP tranny fluid other than the dealership? I want to change out my fluid, but all the auto stores only sell fluid compatable with Mercon...not Mercon SP which is what you have to use in the TorqShift...

My dealership is $4.50 / quart. DieselFiltersOnLine used to be $4.89 per quart. The thing about DieselFiltersOnLine, if you buy filters also from them and get a big order (after $250), you can get a 5% discount and pay NO shipping (after $150).

I've read of this having some controversy to it? Have you heard the same, Dave?

I saw some Mercon SP compatible trans-oil at WalMart for about $2.75 per quart. It was labeled Mercon VI. I haven't tried it nor do I know anyone who has. Anyone know anything about this oil or have you tried it? I need to do a trans oil change very soon and am tempted by the price.

your tranny isn't worth the money you'll "save" by buying that oil. stick with the right stuff.
