Dog tracking

My rear end is Dog tracking over to the right by about three inches.

No wrecks!!! Other than a tail light busting of a grand am a while back... not a scratch on my bumper.

Looks almost like my rear axle shifted forward a little on the drivers side... is this even possible (with the center pin in the leaf springs)? Is it time for new Ubolts or could this be something worse?

I tried getting an alignment but of course they only do the front wheels... Needless to say, still dog tracking.

Any ideas?

It sounds like you have a broken center pin on one of the rear leaf springs.

That would allow one side to shift forward or backward and cause just what you are talking about. It does happen sometimes.

have you rotated the tires recently? (fronts to rear?)

To be honest, tire rotation is over due. That is easy enough. Will give that a try tomorrow after work.

Took the truck in later half of summer last year because of a clunk in the read end when I left off the brake. Dealer said that was a yoke binding? Said simple fix... Better part of 6 months I have not noticed it since. Recently, it started again.

Looking around noticed the rear driver side axle seems slightly forward compared to the right as if it had moved on the leaf spring. That is when I came aware of the dog tracking.

May need rotation (which certainly is due) and new center pin. Seems like a good start. Cheap Start anyways
