Question SMOKING!!! May Be Turbo (*^#$*

Well,,,,,Cleaned the EGR Valve!! It seemed to operate OK. Sooty but not sticking. Snaps closed fine! Cleaned'r Up and reinstalled! Seems to have a oil smell to exhaust. Slight blue smoke when taking off or loading up engine. Seems to have more gray smoke than anything.
Turbo wheel spools nicely and spins free after engine shut down. No Dusting!
Some shaft movement...not excessive!
Truck has 20,700 miles on her What Gives

Did you clean the MAP sensor hose and EBP tube also? How did the manifold inlet look?

im sure you already ruled out the obvious like the head studs/gaskets...if its your turbo though then you know what that means. She wanted something bigger strapped on top of her!

my 06 has the same problem, light blue smoke when starting up or extend idil times, turbo seems ok with mine runs like a rapped ape but whatever. Smells really bad at the exhaust also. someone told me its cuz i removed the CAT. Well im not burning oil and cooolent level seems to not change so im kinda lost here.

Took it to the Friendly's at Ford. I was pretty worked up worried about warranty issues.
Tech saw my Outlook Monitor onboard and plugged into OBD port
ASKED: You got a chip you need to disconect
ANSWERED: I don't have no chip installed......which I didn't at the time
ASKED: What gauges were for
ANSWERED: Need to read proper speed after ticketed and to keep an eye on temps!! YUP,,,,I tow lot'z thinking in the same breath MY AZZ
Well,,,,they gave me current flash and took for a ride... STILL SMOKING!!
Replaced APS and everything back to normal. Even recalibrated my speed-o
Nice Guys At Ford Said I had a good warranty NO PROBLEMS....If So To Bring It Back....They'd be lookin out for me!!

Glad to hear that Lloyd! What exactly is the APS? You need to make a trip down to Winston-Salem with a little blue box from ARP then you can really unleash the beast!
