Fuel Mileage Test Today....

100 Miles of Hwy driving @ 70 MPH= 18.21 MPG
100 Miles of Hwy driving @ 60 MPH= 19.33 MPG

1.1 MPG not really worth it for me. Now if it was 22-23 MPG then maybe I could make the sacrifice.

Now, just for the record, I did NOT get on it either time and used the cruise for the entire test.
Hopefully the removal of my cat and muffler will help improve the above numbers.

This was with Innovative Diesel's Xtreme Street Tune.

yeah, keep in mind that that 1.1 mpg does add up after awhile!!!

unless your time is more valuable to you.

Well if this was my work truck, the difference between 6.3 MPG and 5.3 MPG is thousands of dollars a year. But this is my personal vehicle.

I noticed that at 75mph, catching a draft from a box trailer semi was good for at least 1mpg.

Also found that if the highway has any hills at all, the extra 10mph starts to hurt the mileage more.

I also find that NOT using Cruise warrants better economy by being able to control not downshifting as much.

Those #'s look a lot like mine. I've GPS verified my speed, and hand calculated the MPG meter +/- .2mpg. At 62mph w/cruise, no ac I got 19.3ish over 300 miles. at 70 I get 18, or 17.5. Stock tune, 4" lift, 4" exhaust, no kitty, 35" AT's. at 75-80 things look real grim espeically with a/c on. our mileage is good & bad all at the same time. just depends how you look at it.

And yes, any grade at all throws MPG's out the window.
